The Book Thief by Markus Zusak

Firstly, nothing that I write in my review will do this book justice, it is truly awe-inspiring. Markus Zusak has rendered me speechless, however, every book deserves a review.

Liesel Meminger knows loss more than most girls. Losing her mother and brother at a young age is hard but she soon fills her heart with the people around her. The boy next door becomes her most faithful and cherished friend and an unlikely visitor turns up one night and she fills his empty heart with light.

This book will make the reader laugh, cry, and fall in love with the characters. It is astounding how deeply I fell into the book and how much I cared for each and every person within. The events that happen within the book are thought-provoking and highly emotive. This is one powerful text, and I recommend it to everyone.
