Jemima is about to finish school and begin courting, but with several local boys lining up, she doesn’t know where to start. Good Amish boys are not hard to find, but they are not the only ones interrupting her tranquil life on the farm. When she buys a second-hand clock as a present for her sister she unravels a sequence of actions that begin to change her life completely, bringing with them an outsider who declares his interest in her.
This is a sweet book, and although it’s very different from the books that I usually read; I really enjoyed it. Jemima is a sound character, naïve and gentle, and the plot is simple but effective. I would have liked it to be longer, but it’s a good start to the series.
