When Bonnie is sent on a local history mission to Mud Creek, she encounters one disaster after another. Not easily perturbed she continues that mission even when virtually the whole town is against what she is fighting for. Will, the sexy mayor among other things, is the town’s biggest champion, and she has to fight her desire for him as well as his sabotage.
This is yet another winner from Molly Harper. With her warm characters and honest voice, you can’t but help fall in love with the story. Bonnie is blessed with all of Harper’s usual traits of vulnerability, self-doubt, and wicked humour, not to mention the warmth and friendliness the character oozes. The conflict between the couple makes for an interesting read and gives both lead characters more depth. The southern theme, her easy description, and talent for building well-rounded characters make her one of my all-time favourite authors.
