Savannah returns to her hometown to lick her emotional wounds after being played by a man she trusted. Her career in tatters and her heart shattered she makes a plan and it involves the man everyone in town calls a monster. Her career back on track she pours everything into her new story.
This is a beautiful and emotional retelling of the classic fairytale Beauty and the Beast. Savannah as Beauty is emotionally honest and complex but the Beast, Asher, is the real beauty. His character is charming and lovable while being extremely vulnerable.
Regnery tells the story slowly and beautifully. Her ability to create intense emotional conflict is astounding. The reader gets a full-on heartbreak as each event unfolds so have the tissues handy and don’t read in a public place.
